We are a compliance office for the university. We hire students to support the University Records Center. We pick up, store, and protect the paper records for other University departments from all three campuses (Tacoma boxes come to central campus and we pick them up from there).

Students drive our UW van to and from Seattle campus and Bothell campus (driver's license is a requirement of the job), pick up boxes of records and shelve them in our facility. If an office wants a folder or box back, our students retrieve the item and either mail or drop them back at the originating department. When boxes have past their retention period our students pull them off the shelves and sort into shredding or recycling bins. It’s a physical job, but not unpleasant.

We are located out at the old Sand Point Navy Base, which is now Magnuson Park. We are on Sand Point Way and NE 74th street. Parking is free

Requirements:
-- A valid Washington State Driver's License
-- Able to lift 45lbs and stand for long periods of time
-- Able to work without constant supervision
-- An enrolled student at the University of Washington

The job is physical. Duties include:
-- Pulling boxes and disposing of contents as part of the disposition process
-- Pick-up of boxes for storage from University Offices
-- Shelving of boxes at the University Records Center
-- Retrieval and refile of individual folder and box requests

We are looking for the most responsible student we can find. We accept work study eligible students for this position.
