Communications Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
The Communications Coordinator supports the school by developing timely communications and materials to be shared with key stakeholders, including parents, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, etc.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the development of written materials including, but not limited to:
- Weekly digital newsletter
- Field trip letters
- Health notifications
- School notifications (i.e., canceled sports, availability of grades, etc.)
- Special event announcements
- Communication from the Head of School and Associate Head
- Execute social media strategy through the following:
- Create social media posts and stories based on a pre-determined content calendar
- Draft appropriate captions
- Capture imagery
- Review and elevate comments
- Update website including:
- News section
- Events calendar
- Support the marketing needs of various departments, including School, Advancement, and Parent Relations
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Project and time management
- Understand the principles of copywriting and graphic design
- Assist with media relations efforts (i.e., local press, trade, podcasts)
DEGREE:
· Associates degree. Bachelor's degree in Communication, Digital Marketing or Public Relations, preferred
HOURS:
Part time. Monday –Friday, 9:00am- 1:00pm, with some flexibility of hours at the discretion of the Director of Parent and Community Relations (approximately 20 hours per week)
12 month position
