PAID INTERNSHIP| Exhibition Education Intern [FIELD MUSEUM]

Intern Responsibilities:
The Calumet Exhibition Educational Toolkit Intern will work with Field Museum staff to design and construct educational toolkits and a related website, to be used by teachers as companion pieces to the Calumet Voices, National Stories exhibition.

The intern will be responsible for seeing the projects through from start to finish.
  • For the Toolkits, the intern will work from proto-types of approximately six activities to create test versions (mock-ups), receive feedback, problem-solve, revise, and create (design and build) the final versions of the activities and their housing within the educational Toolkit.
  • While focusing on the Toolkits, the intern will also be responsible for creating a basic website to house resources and related materials to complement the Toolkits.
  • Throughout the course of the internship, the intern will be exposed to various aspects of museum practice, including exhibitions, research, collections, and education.
  • In addition, the intern will be part of a project team and participate in all aspects of planning and executing two separate but related projects.

Intern Job skills needed.    
  • Graphic design.
  • 3-D/spatial layout and design.
  • Basic website design and development.
  • Hands-on experience with designing and constructing small-scale 3-D components.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good conceptual skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
