Overview
As an extern, you will explore the landscape of gaming genres and conduct a thorough analysis of a select few games. Through this, you will also provide the Mobalytics team insights into important topics such as player personas, experience, and psychology and game revenue models and design as Mobalytics evaluates new market expansion opportunities.
The Experience
- Familiarize yourself with the vision, mission, and work of Mobalytics
- Explore a high-level overview of gaming genres that currently exist in the market
- Choose a game genre and conduct a deep dive analysis into player psychology
- Engage with particular games to draw firsthand experience of select games within the genre explores
- Identify how data analytics can be used in assessing expansion opportunities
- Learn to organize, analyze, and visualize data using tools like Excel, Tableau, SQL
- Summarize your research and make a compelling presentation that highlights the key takeaways and makes recommendations to Mobalytics on market expansion opportunities
Qualifications
- Ambitious undergraduate and graduate students with a strong interest in consulting, business analytics, industry research, human behavior, and gaming industries. Students with backgrounds in business, sociology, psychology, computer science, and game design are highly encouraged to apply.
Rolling start dates
The start date for this Externship is rolling and students will be evaluated on a first come first serve basis. Applications will close when the Externship is full.
Part-time and fully remote
This Externship is a 10-hour-per-week fully remote experience where all meetings and events are recorded.

About Mobalytics
Headquartered in Marina Del Ray, California, Mobalytics is a player analytics platform, personal gaming assistant, and community dedicated to helping video game players master their favorite games through robust tools and analytics. How a Remote Externship Works

Application Process
After sending in your application, we'll reach out if we think you're a good fit. You'll send in a "Get to Know You" video and then participate in a live interview.
Week 1: Onboarding
During the first week of the program, you'll be setting goals for what you want to achieve in the upcoming weeks and familiarizing yourself with the industry, our platform, and your cohort.
Weeks 2-5: Research & Analysis
During the regular programming of the Externship, you will receive training and complete projects through our student platform. These exciting weeks are filled with weekly meetings, company meetings, student-led workshops, and virtual events like speaker series and networking sessions.
Present to Host Company
Top students will be selected to present their projects and findings to company leads and other senior leadership.
