  • As the Bay Area Calendar Manager, you will ensure that all appropriate New York City arts and culture event press releases sent to the magazine are added to the Picture This Post Readers’ Calendar.

  • You will help design and implement strategies to expand the breadth of Bay Area-based cultural offerings available to the magazine, including outreach via social media, email and website messaging requesting addition of the magazine to media lists.

  • You will help train PR reps for Bay Area-based arts and culture organizations on how to use the Readers’ Calendar for their clientele.

*Optional—you will create roundups of art and culture happenings in the Bay Area similar in format to New York Theater – NOW and COMING SOON

More Details on Your Training:

Picture This Post is an entirely volunteer organization, from top to bottom.  Since its inception, Picture This Post has made training college students and recent grads a top priority.  This position will likely provide you far more training than a typical “internship”. **After 2 months, undergrad volunteers may request recategorizing their volunteer position to become an official internship per their school's requirements.

Amy Munice, Editor in Chief and Co-Publisher, will be your primary supervisor.     She is a 30+ year PR professional and freelance journalist, and cultural reporter who has penned many hundreds of articles.  She will be the author of your future reference for job hunting purposes.

Training sessions are held by zoom—often in small groups—throughout the week and weekend.  Initially you will need to adapt your schedule to facilitate your training.  Once you have the prerequisite skills, you determine your schedule—this is an entirely flexible position time-wise, tailored for those who have one or more jobs and other heavy life loads.

What you can expect to learn and accomplish:

-How an online publication works;

-Insights into the breadth of arts and cultural events in the Bay Area;

-Potential for making 100's of personal contacts for future job networking;

-Professional communications;

-How to read press releases;

-Time management;

-*Basics of WordPress and other online publishing automation, intro to how search engines work/html/CSS.
