Hostess/Greeter

Position: Hostess/Greeter $13 per Hour

Department: Food and Beverage

Job Summary
The Hostess will be primarily responsible for greeting and seating guests. Follow food and
beverage standards and ensure guest satisfaction.

« Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product
« Customer Service experience
« Ability to communicate in English, additional languages a plus.
« Basic knowledge of food and beverage items
« Excellent telephone voice and communication skills, both written and oral
« Able to stand for long periods of time
« Able to handle a fast paced environment
« Must be organized and detail oriented
« Tolerance of all cultures
« Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
« Able to handle objects, reach with arms and hands, stand, sit, or walk for an extended period
of time; Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10
pounds without assistance, pull, bend, stoop, and perform upward reaching for an extended
period of time
Job Duties

« Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform
« Answer telephones within 1 ring
« Take reservations as required ensuring accuracy
« Ensure that special requests are accommodated
« Maintain the cleanliness of workstation
« Ensure that all menu folders and inserts are clean and current.
« Maintain inventory of menus and inserts
« Ensure that all guest supplies are filled. Order and maintain the guest supply inventory
« Complete the floor plan and assign servers stations on a daily basis upon the approval of the
manager
« Be familiar with the menus of restaurant, bars, and room service
« Ability to describe the style of cuisine and dictate the hours of operation « Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications « Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company asset « Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to Grand Beach Hotel standards, anticipate and address guests` service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation « Speak with others using clear and professional language « Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees « Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards « Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time « Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance « Consistently maintain a positive attitude « Encourage a positive attitude among Team Members « Anticipate needs, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring complete satisfaction « Perform all duties in a timely and professional manner « Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Team Member handbook « Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company’s personal appearance standards « Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests « Observes hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call handling procedures « Special projects and duties as assigned General « Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times « Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow Team Members « Executes emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards « Complies with required safety regulations and procedures « Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions « Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area « Complies with hotel standards, policies and rules « Recycles whenever possible « Remains current with hotel information and changes « Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Within the first 30 days must be able to perform to standard all activities on the New Hire Training Checklist.
