Student Events and Marketing Coordinator

Job description/duties/responsibilities:
This position is pending approval for funding. Interviews are anticipated to begin in May, the application will stay open until closes. This position would start in July or August of 2023.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Current WSU Vancouver student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits

Minimum of 12 credits completed at WSU Vancouver and in good academic standing

Ability to communicate and connect with students

Interest in collaborating across departments and communicating with campus partners

Willingness to take initiative and ability to think ahead to the next step

Able to work both independently and on a team

Genuine interest in helping students to achieve academic success, build community, and connect them with campus resources

Desired Skills:

Experience with, or willingness to learn, event planning, coordination, and/or facilitation

Familiarity with or enthusiasm for learning about administrative and communications or marketing tools: emailing, Canva, Discord, Teams, Excel Spreadsheets, Outlook, Coug Presence, etc.

Job Description/duties/responsibilities:

Communicate and outreach students, faculty, and staff regarding Engaged Learning workshops and event collaborations

Support the New Coug Student Leaders, Career Actions, and Engaged Learning in developing marketing materials using Canva and distributing them online and around campus

Send out information to students about upcoming events and update them as needed; conduct other student outreach for ELCA Events: tabling, visiting UNIV 304, study abroad, etc.

Track event attendance and report data to the Assistant Director of Engaged Learning and Success Coaches; provide other assessments as requested

As needed, support ELCA staff with facilitating workshops and sessions that assist new students in resource navigation and set them up for a successful WSU college experience

Complete inventory of event supplies as needed

Provide office support to ELCA, including answering student questions during office hours

Support the planning of ELCA events, including Orientation, study abroad, New Student Programs, and UNIV Events through marketing, preparing of materials, and logistics

Occasionally assist the Assistant Campus Director of Engaged Learning with other projects that aid in helping first-year, transfer, and incoming students to be successful at WSU Vancouver

Support the New Coug Student Leaders in managing the Engaged Learning’s Discord account

Job roles:
• The logistics planning, marketing, and coordination of events to further student persistence. • Collaborating and communicating among various campus partners in the implementation of ELCA events. • Overall support for Engaged Learning.

Position will remain open until filled.
