LTOCE: Human Ecology Student Worker
Daily
Check Paper in copier-replace if needed.
Check shredder trash- empty it and make sure there is a trash bag
Check the mail-Mail- 1st drop after 10am; 2nd after 2pm
· Please make sure all outgoing mail has a return address.
Check floors of the copy room to see if it needs to be vacuumed. .
Answer the phones with the script that has been provided. Please do your best to answer the phone by the first half ring.
Lock up the classrooms, computer labs, student lounge, and conference rooms at the end of the day. Please make sure the lights are turned off as well.
*The computer lab closes at 4:30, start here- tell all students that are in the lab that you have to lock up and let them know you will make your rounds and will lock it up last. This will give them time to wrap up anything they are doing. If they are still in there when you get back, politely let them know that it’s time to lock up and wait on them to leave. Let the office know of any rooms that are left open and why they were left unlocked and open.
Weekly/Every Friday
Fill up copier
Stock shelves in the copy room with paper.
Vacuum the office.
*Check with other faculty who do not have student workers to see if they need their office vacuumed or trash taken out.
During Free time before homework or studying/As needed
Check the form cabinet to make sure we don’t need copies of any forms, curriculum sheets, programs, or flyers. There should be at least 50 of everything at all times.
Make sure there are plenty of folders made for each concentration. There should be at least 10 folders of each concentration at all times. When making folders, please make sure you are using the most current curriculum sheet and not the ones in the folders. The ones in the folders are old curriculums.
Make sure there are plenty of recruiting folders made in the credenza. There should be at least 15 folders for each program at all times.
Dust/Organize
Please make sure all items and assignments are done; then you may begin studying or doing homework.
•Students must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for student employment. Half time enrollment is defined as 4 hours for undergraduates or 3 hours for graduates. Students who drop below half-time will no longer be eligible for student employment and must cease working.
•Students must have an overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates and a 3.0 for graduates during their employment. First time freshmen must have an ACT Composite score of 20 or higher at time of employment.
•Students may work a maximum of 20 hours a work week, and are not allowed to work during scheduled class times.
•Student workers will be allowed to hold only one job at a time during an academic year (ex: FWS, Graduate Assistantship, Regular Funds)
•New student workers must have valid identification documents (non-expired passport or driver’s license and social security card)
•International students must have a current passport, I-94, and social security card
