2023 Winery Harvest Internship

Napa Valley old vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah specialist, Robert Biale Vineyards, is seeking some hard working and passionate folks to assist our production team for the 2023 harvest. We are a small, dedicated team focused on working with some of the most historic and iconic vineyards in Napa and Sonoma Counties. Please check out our website to learn more about these amazing sites – Monte Rosso, Stagecoach, Palisades, Pagani Ranch, Morisoli to name a few. Just to keep things interesting, along with Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, we also work with small amounts of Barbera, Sangiovese, Syrah, Abouriou, Tempranillo, Alicante Bouschet, and Greco.

The position consists of all things harvest. Our goal is to give everyone a well-rounded and hands-on view of all that goes into making outstanding wines – no one will be pigeon-holed into doing a single task all harvest long. Some tasks include vineyard sample processing, grape sorting, barrel washing/steaming, punch downs and pump overs, additions, topping, pressing, barrel filling, and, of course, cleaning (anything and everything). We are a small team so you will work alongside our full-time staff and become very familiar with every aspect of our process. We welcome and are happy to answer questions as they arise.

Previous harvest or forklift experience, while helpful, is not required. What is required is a general drive to work hard during long days, especially during the peak of harvest, an eagerness to learn, ask questions, the ability to work safely, an ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., pull 100 lbs. at least 20 ft., stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, stairs, and catwalks, stoop bend, lift overhead, and kneel.

The position would begin early August and run through mid-November, depending on the season. There is a possibility of starting as early as late-July to assist with some bottling. Weekend work is required, as is flexibility based upon harvest conditions.

Robert Biale Vineyards is an equal opportunity employer.
