The Job Details are as follows:
The research assistant will work closely with project team members and participate in all aspects of research, including data collection, preparation and analysis, searching for and summarizing relevant literature, and preparing written and oral presentations of results.
 
Responsibilities
 
A Research Assistant plays an important and significant role in research activities and works closely with the research team to provide the following research assistance:
 
    * Assist in the design, implementation, and execution of research projects
    * Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
    * Search for and summarize existing literature
    * Maintain awareness of current professional issues and research methods used within library and information science
    * Assist in writing research and grant proposals, reports, presentations, publications, and software documentation
 
    * Assist in the specification and coding of quantitative and qualitative software necessary to support research projects
 
    * Perform project-related administrative tasks
 
Required Qualifications
    * A graduate student currently enrolled in a library and information science, psychology, sociology, communications, computer science, cognitive science, linguistics, statistics, or related program
 
    * Prior undergraduate or graduate research experience or a strong interest in learning to conduct research
    * Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment with all levels of internal staff and external colleagues
    * Ability to work independently
    * Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve problems
    * Excellent written and oral communications skills
    * Proficiency of Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software applications (e.g., NVivo, Zotero)
    * Knowledge of computer programming (e.g., Python, C++)
 
Desired Qualifications
    * Ability to apply library and information science theories and practices to research work
    * Familiarity with data analysis software programs
    * Self-directed and able to meet deadlines, manage projects and time, and prioritize assignments
    * Ability to respond to changing priorities and to work with a distributed team
    * Willingness to learn new skills and to extend expertise
    * Knowledge of the formal research process

    * Please note: This is a hybrid (remote + in office). That means this position is tied to its currently assigned headquarters of Dublin, Ohio. This position will be 3 days in office with the flexibility of working 2 days remotely. While we provide a flexible work environment, we anticipate times when we will require on-campus presence
    * Starting salary range for this position is $18.54/hour to $24.72/hour depending on experience
