Marketing Intern
The RTA located in Cleveland, Ohio, is searching for a creative and analytical Marketing Intern to join our Marketing and Communications team. The intern will provide campaign and public relations support for current project(s); GCRTA is flexible and willing to work with Intern to meet academic internship requirements (project and time) for degree/graduation. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) provides transportation services for 150,000-200,000 customers on a typical weekday, or about 45 million rides annually, through a variety of services, including HealthLine, bus, Paratransit, light rail, heavy rail, and vanpools. RTA is the 2019 recipient of the prestigious American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Gold award for Bus Safety & Security Excellence. Duties:
Reports to Supervisor of Digital and External Marketing and/or Manager of Internal Communications on project(s) to design campaigns, materials, provide support with community engagement and/or public relations event(s), produce short videos and take photos for social media and/or to update photo files of employees, facilities, vehicles or events. Follow official GCRTA brand guidelines and all policies/procedures to ensure consistency and quality of all materials. Support production by routing proofs, editing, tracking project status and contributing to reports/communications. Flexible work and project schedule to be determined by candidate and GCRTA to meet academic requirements and project needs of the Authority. Potential projects may include market research, advertisements, brochures, flyers or signage, promotional materials or events, presentations, analytics/reports, marketing and/or social media campaign development, evaluation, scanning/digitizing historical/old documents and photos, assisting with records retention process, and more.
Minimum Requirements:
College students with a declared major of marketing, communications, or related field of study. Strong creative and analytical skills. Compelling portfolio including samples/projects including video, social media posts, writing samples, and graphic design work required. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred. Knowledge of video production and editing, photography skills, and layouts, typography, color, and other graphic design fundamentals is helpful.
