Accounting Internship

The ideal intern will be highly organized, detail oriented, provide exceptional customer service, an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with team members. An Accounting Intern must be able to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy, able to positively take direction, and willing to assist with any needs of the accounting department. This internship will provide a wonderful opportunity to build experience with accounting principles, accounting tasks, and QuickBooks.
This position reports to:
Accounting Manager and COO/President of Association Management

Job Responsibilities & Duties:                                                   
Finance:
·       Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting transactions, and reconciling entries
·       Ability to reconcile general ledger accounts and make journal entries as required
·       Accounts Payable
·       Accounts Receivable
·       Reconcile bank statements
·       Reconcile credit card statements
·       File sales tax reports monthly
·       Review monthly expense reports for errors in posting
 
Administrative:
·       Answering phones with a multi-line extension system
·       Send correspondence to vendors and clients regarding collections and follow-up phone calls.
·       Ability to use office equipment; copier, fax machine, 10-key calculator, and scanner
·       Become familiar with the company server files system
·       Filing
 
Qualifications: 
·       QuickBooks Desktop and Online Certification a plus
·       Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
