Summer 2023 Intern

LEDDY MAYTUM STACY Architects (LMSA www.lmsarch.com) is an award winning 35-person architectural practice established in 2001, located in the Mission District in San Francisco. We are a nationally recognized mission driven practice and the 2017 National AIA Architecture Firm Award Recipient. We are a diverse group of designers who share a common belief in the transformative power of architecture to help lead the way to a just, healthy, and regenerative future. We work with leading non-profit, educational, housing, and social justice organizations to create sustainable new environments that advance their important missions.

We are seeking a talented, ambitious student to join our team for the summer and collaborate on exciting new commissions. LMSA will offer a competitive hourly wage based on candidate qualifications and experience.

Duties may include: 
·        Assist with drafting and 3D modeling using digital design tools
·        Assist in preparation of graphic presentations and physical model making
·        Assist with construction administration tasks including job site observation
·        On-going office sustainability research and post-occupancy studies
·        Participate in meetings
·        Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining, retrieving, and filing documents

Qualifications:
Candidate shall have the following qualifications and skills:
·          Pursuing a degree in Architecture from an accredited US architecture program.
·          Demonstrated creative architectural design experience.
·          Excellent communication and organizational skills.
·          Self-motivated within a multi-disciplinary team context.
·          Proficiency in design visualization: Three-dimensional modeling (i.e., SketchUp or Rhino) and presentation graphics software (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) is required. Model building skills and Revit are desired, but not required.
·          Interest in sustainable design practices.
·          Awareness of accessibility requirements and universal design strategies.
·          Candidates must be able to come to our physical office. Currently, employees work in the office 3-days per week.
