Business Description: The Global Fund Accounting & Finance group is responsible for the fund accounting, investor reporting and performance reporting for the investment funds offered by Blackstone. The group also provides support to the front office professionals, addressing a variety of investor relations matters, and works with business development on new funds and products. Additionally, the team supports Blackstone’s internal marketing group and primarily deals with statistical and performance related data.
Program Description:
Blackstone's Summer Analyst Program is 10-weeks in length and will provide participants broad exposure to the Firm. The Program offers Summer Analyst's various technical training and professional development opportunities, the ability to network with professionals across all business units, and a robust mentorship experience to allow the participants to be fully immersed in the Blackstone culture.
Job Description:
The Global Fund Accounting & Finance Summer Analyst Program seeks to offer a dynamic experience to individuals currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, who are interested in careers in alternative asset investment fund finance and accounting. Our program is designed to focus on developing the technical accounting skill set required to administer alternative investment funds as well as identify candidates for Blackstone’s full time Global Fund Accounting & Finance Analyst program.
The Summer Analyst program offers a hands-on experience across several Global Fund Accounting & Finance teams, where Summer Analysts will have direct exposure to senior-level management, engaging mentors, development opportunities and targeted training to help develop and sharpen technical, analytical and communication skills. Analysts who join Blackstone’s full time Global Fund Accounting & Finance Analyst program are expected to be, or pursue becoming, licensed Certified Public Accountants and will receive benefits specific to that pursuit (i.e., review course and exam fee reimbursement).
Analysts will support a specific business which will include the following:
• Private Equity
• Tactical Opportunities
• Strategic Partners
• Credit
• Real Estate
• Hedge Fund Solutions
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Preparing accounting records
• Assisting with reviewing daily cash and investment activity
• Monitoring and reporting on credit facility activity
• Preparing capital drawdowns
• Preparing distributions
• Reviewing waterfall calculations
• Preparing management fee calculations and billing statements
• Preparing quarterly and audited annual reports, including financial footnotes
• Assisting in reviewing quarterly capital account statements
• Working with technology teams to improve system functionality and validate enhancements
• Liaising with investors
• Assisting in onboarding of new funds
• Working with internal valuation teams to ensure data completeness
• Working with the tax compliance team to ensure accurate investor reporting.
• Reviewing fund external compliance deliverables, such as Form PF and AIFMD
• Assisting with special projects and internal ad hoc requests
Qualifications:

• Active pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
• CPA or ambition to pursue becoming a CPA
• Strong academic record
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong quantitative skills
• Self-starter, highly organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to be a collaborative team player
• Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while handling multiple projects
• Possesses a strong work ethic, personal and professional integrity, a positive attitude, and genuine passion for excellence
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
