Accounting Intern
Pay rate: $15/hr. 
Temporary: May 2023 – September 2023 
Schedule: Monday-Friday including some evening hours 29 hours/week
Purpose
As an Accounting Intern at Employ Milwaukee, you will have the opportunity to apply your education in a real-world setting; participate in significant, value-adding projects alongside an experienced accountant and finance team in achieving department goals that impact our business and beyond.
The Accounting intern supports the accounting department during the summer, especially to assist with Earn and Learn program. We need a very dependable, honest, focus, detail-oriented, and positive individual who can meet our needs with daily tasks assigned. This position reports to and receives direction from the Accounting Manager to support our department.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Earn and Learn program by processing timesheets according to company polices.
  • Calculate and verify information is correct and accurate on timesheets.
  • Performing Data entry, by entering hours worked in excel accurately.
  • Alphabetize, file documents related including making labels and maintaining fiscal department filing.
  • Monitor and report discrepancies in timesheets as appropriate.
  • Provides administrative support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.

  • Detail-oriented
  • The ability to be discreet when managing sensitive financial information.
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment, computers, copiers, and fax machine.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently skills.
  • Eagerness to learn.
  • Interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
  • Attention to detail – able to complete tasks with high level of accuracy.
Required Skills and qualifications:
  • Availability: Monday – Friday including some evenings throughout the months of May– September  
  • Education/Experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required. Must be attending post-secondary education with an interest in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
  • Technology/Equipment: Must be skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
