PhD Intern - High Pressure Chemistry
 
Guides and influences technical project direction in the area of plastic upcycling/circularity. Solves significant technical problems by leveraging scientific/engineering skills and strong foundational R&D understanding developed through hands-on experimentation with practical application in mind. Demonstrates implementation skills by leveraging knowledge and integrating new information to move project forward.​
 
Job Qualifications
 
Experience in synthetic chemistry or chemical engineering, especially high pressure chemistry such as hydrogenation, hydrothermal treatment, and the like, at a variety of bench scales. Familiar with catalysts and the means to select, characterize, and safely use these in chemical transformations.
 
Purification (solvent or liquid-liquid extraction, precipitation, or distillation)
 
Characterization skills (HPLC, GC, GC-MS, NMR)
 
Strong communication skills

Pay Range: $55-$61 /hr
