Field Education Research Assistant - Social Work

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 
Field Education is an integral part of social work education, essentially our “signature pedagogy,” during which students apply classroom learning and further develop practice skills. The Field Education Program GA provides research and administrative support to the Department of Social Work Field Education Program and assists the BSSW and MSW Field Directors in three substantive areas: 1) data input and management of Social Work Field Education database; 2) support of field education outreach, assessment, and evaluation; and 3) further develop on-going field instructor training. The position will also include other administrative tasks as assigned.
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Available to work 10 hours per week for entire academic year. 
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date. 
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing. 
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Multicultural background or experience(s) and/or a commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
  • Knowledge of and experience with program administration and/or project management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with database management with specific experience with Microsoft Office; Canva, Adobe and Qualtrics.
  • Proficient in conducting literature searches using social and behavioral science and related databases.
  • Available to continue in a GA position during the 2022-23 academic year.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment. 

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $5,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 
 
RELATED INFORMATION: 
Will require some in person hours across the semester
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
