Overview

AIR’s Contracts & Finance Operations team is currently looking for a Finance Assistant to join its innovative team. The position resides in the program finance unit and reports to the Finance Director of one of our divisions. In this role, you will provide financial and administrative support for moderately complex projects with some supervision. If you are excited to be part of a dynamic team and want to roll up your sleeves, this role is for you.
 
Candidates hired for the position have the flexibility to work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of our U.S. office locations.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the position include:
  • Support the financial set-up and close-out of projects.
  • Review monthly financial reports and project financial records for inconsistencies and ensure all expenses are properly charged. Initiates transfer for mischarged costs.
  • Enter information into the financial tracking system by working with Project Managers and Finance Analysts to ensure that labor and non-labor budgets, actual costs, and forecasts are accurate.
  • Enter information into AIR’s budgeting & forecasting tool and staffing database, always ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the same for those projects supported.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of efficient financial filing and tracking systems for assigned projects.
  • Perform general office tasks including photocopying, faxing, phone calls, email, and FedEx.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time based on business needs.


Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics or a related field.
 Skills:
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds in a virtual work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, and collaboratively as needed, while prioritizing multiple objectives and projects to consistently meet established timelines.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, customer-focused and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential information, and accounting systems (preferably Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks, and Cognos analytics), including experience with large data sets and complicated budgets.
  • Proficient in using standard Microsoft 365, including OneDrive, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

 Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.
