This position is ideal for students who are able to work in our Boston office throughout the school year while maintaining at least a part-time class status each semester. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE! Best suited for students with at least a full year remaining prior to graduation.
Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for supporting Assistant U.S. Attorneys in the Criminal Division. Typical work assignments will include supporting investigative or trail teams in a variety of ways, including:
- Operating a copying machine.
- Answering the telephone and referring callers to staff members or taking messages.
- Sorting and arranging materials for filing in alphabetical, numerical, or chronological order.
- Retrieving files or other materials.
- Processing a variety of routine legal documents, e.g., complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, subpoenas, and libels.
- Providing assistance to attorneys in trial preparation by conducting non-complex research of litigation, statutes, regulations and court cases.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
