Architecture Intern

Summary
The Architecture Internship is designed for the incumbent to receive mentorship and guidance as well as opportunities for direct engagement with other construction professionals in order to get the most from this hands-on learning experience. Some of the work the architecture intern will get to produce or be exposed to includes: 

· Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc.
· Participate in architectural design through all stages including Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration
· Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings
· Attend company events and trainings as assigned
· “Redline” drawings updates using Revit software and assist with construction administration reviews to include contractor shop drawings, production data reviews and product sample reviews
· Provide graphic support for marketing project pursuits
· Attend client design presentations
· Researching code and regulatory requirements
· Produces well-organized, finished design documents of good appearance, accuracy, clarity, and correctness from layouts, sketches, or written instructions. Applies disciplined design and detailing fundamentals in developing designs and specifications under the supervision of and subject to final approval by the Licensed Professional
· Perform analysis or calculations as assigned
· Perform dimensional, interference, and basic design checks on the layouts and sketches of Licensed Professionals and, as requested, on interdisciplinary drawing sets
· Assist Licensed Professional with plotting/production/assembly of drawing packages and writing specifications
· Subject to final approval of Licensed Professional, checks shop drawings and submittal data for conformance with contract documents
· Assist Licensed professionals in field inspections, development of solutions to field problems, preparation of field orders, addenda, and record drawings

Qualifications
Qualified candidates should be a rising third- or fourth-year undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Construction Management, Historic Preservation, Civil Design, Interior Design, Landscape Design, Urban Planning, or Architecture Design. 

Candidate should possess great interpersonal skills, written communication, and is highly dependable. 

To be successful in this role, candidates must also have technical knowledge in 2D drawing, 3D modeling, and rendering software (i.e., Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD), MS Office programs, and Adobe Creative Cloud
 
Physical Requirements
· Position is primarily stationary with occasionally need to traverse within the office or job site
· Role has a constant need to review and/or prepare visual materials
· Occasional need to climb stairs or ladders or stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to visually inspect aspects of construction work

Working Conditions
· This job operates primarily in an office environment.
·  Requires infrequent local travel between job sites
·  Infrequent exposure to characteristic construction site dangers
 
Schedule Requirement
· Monday-Friday 9-5 in Glendale office
