Social Worker - Summer Camp 2023
Camp Danbee seeks a seasonal camp Social Worker or Psychologist to join our camper care team to provide mental health guidance and support to staff, campers, and their families. Our camp Social Worker will work directly with the Director, Health Center, and Head Counselor team to provide social/emotional support and strategies to guide staff and camper around conflict resolution, social skills, emotional regulation, extreme cases of homesickness, behavioral plans, and any other mental health challenges that arise in the camp setting.
Qualifications and Skills:
Master's Degree in Social Work with LCSW or Psychology with a minimum of 2 years practical experience with children, young adults and/or families
Ability to work cooperatively as a team member
Ability to lead during challenging situations
Ability to work with individuals of all ages and abilities
Ability to accept guidance and feedback
Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a variety of camp settings
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physical Demands:
Sit, stand and move freely about the campsite throughout the duration of the camp day
Spend time both indoors and outdoors in the heat
Follow health and safety protocols, including those around COVID-19
