Civil Engineering Intern III
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
· Assist in the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analyses related to floodplain management studies and a variety of water resource projects
· Assist with report writing and setup
· Development of engineering calculations using examples and guidance of senior engineers
· Support senior and junior engineers with office-related tasks.
· Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
· Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
· Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
· Willingness/ability to travel to job sites and assist with field work as needed
Minimum Requirements
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Civil or Water Resources Engineering fields
· Must have completed three years of study in the applicable program
· Due to the nature of work, US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
· A GPA of 3.5 or higher
· Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic engineering concepts through coursework or work experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
· Familiarity with using ArcGIS
· Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS)
· Effective written and oral communication skills
· A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven environment
· Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
