As an intern at NJ TRANSIT, you will oversee projects from concepts to completion. Our interns step away from the regular sitting at the desk to having the opportunity at hands-on experience with several business units within NJ TRANSIT. Our ideal candidate is passionate about learning and using creative solutions to make an impact on the lives of others every day.
The Annual NJ TRANSIT Internship Program is a 10-Week paid program geared towards college students enrolled in an accredited degree program.
Objective of this role:
The intern will assist with supplying the operations and support of the NJ TRANSIT Police Department, maintenance and upkeep of the police fleet in the Police Support Service Unite i.e. Command Bus. Mini Command, Water Rescue, Generators, and COOP Equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Majoring in Criminal Justice, supply chain or closely related field
· Any year of college
· Experience at Volunteer Fire Department or First Aid Squad is desired
· Light mechanical experience is a plus.
· Knowledge of inventory tracking and supply chain is a plus
· Computer skills i.e. Excel is required
· New Jersey’s Driver License is required
· Able to lift 20lbs or more
Working Environment:
· Work is conducted inside and outside. All types of weather
· Must be available nights and weekends if special events arise
