Caseworker 2 (3rd Shift)

Dauphin County Department of Mental Health, Autism, and Developmental Programs is currently accepting applications for the full-time, third shift (11 PM- 7 AM) Caseworker 2 position. Existing Crisis Intervention Program Caseworker employees can apply based on their current status. 
The Caseworker 2 provides immediate response to a wide variety of life crisis situations for individuals in Dauphin County within a 24-hour emergency Crisis Intervention program. The Caseworker 2 employs casework skills to obtain essential information, provides counseling for consumers and members of their families, and helps them to utilize all available resources. Work also involves the application of problem-solving techniques, providing counseling to maximize service delivery and to achieve service plan goals, monitoring consumer behavior, and interacting with agencies which make up the local service network. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies, and procedures. The Caseworker 2 exercises initiative and judgement in discharging their duties. Work is reviewed by a professional social service or administrative supervisor through regularly scheduled individual and group conferences and the review of case records and reports. This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Unit.
The third shift (11 PM-7 AM) offers a potential $.85 shift differential. This amount is subject to change.
In addition to the above stated hourly rate, this position may be subject to a retention bonus following one (1) full year of employment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree in a human services major such as sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences, and one year of professional experience in a public or private social services agency.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A resume along with a copy of either an official or unofficial college transcript must be attached to the application.
Transcripts must include: 1) Name of the Applicant, 2) School Name, 3) Full list of academic coursework, 4) Degree (if awarded).

A valid driver’s license and positive driving record, a favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances, as well as favorable reference checks are required.
