0913 - Trades Maintenance Supervisor (Industrial Electrician Supervisor)

This position is in the Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department.

Salary Grade: 57

As the Industrial Electrician Supervisor, you will schedule, review, inspect, and approve work done by the electrical support contractors and projects by the electrical construction Job Order Contractors (JOC). The supervisor will create red line drawings and markups on electrical drawings, scan drawings into the appropriate file folders and add markups into the Operation and Maintenance folder for future reference. In this position, you will order parts for the electrical support contractors and any special projects as assigned by upper management. All work will be entered and tracked within the Maximo work order system.

A post-offer physical will be required. 

(1) Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program in the specific trade or craft appropriate to assigned duties and six years of journey-level experience in the same trade or craft, including two years of lead or supervisory experience in the trade, craft, skill or area of specialization.
(Relevant education may substitute for up to three years of the aforementioned experience.)
OR:
(2) Eight years of journey-level experience including two years of lead or supervisory experience in the trade, craft or operational area of required expertise.
(Relevant education may substitute for up to four years of the aforementioned experience.)
OR:
(3) Three years of experience with Pima County as a Trades Maintenance (TM) Specialist, TM Specialist-Senior or TM Foreman in the specific trade, craft, specialty or operational area of required expertise and one year of lead or supervisory experience (which may be concurrent with required technical experience.)
(Relevant education may substitute for up to one and one half years of the aforementioned experience.)
OR:
(4) Five years of experience with Pima County in wastewater facility operations as either a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-Senior; Principal Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor which includes one year of supervisory experience and two years performing and/or coordinating maintenance activities within an industrial wastewater facility.

Preferred Qualifications: (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):

  1. Minimum six (6) years experience with 120v to 46kv Distribution Systems (MCCs, generators, switchgear, power breakers, switchboard, transformers, and all equipment involved), thermal and imaging testing of electrical systems, breaker testing, and power cable testing.
  2. Minimum six (6) years experience as an industrial electrician, installing and commissioning new systems/equipment, and troubleshooting electrical systems (motors, pumps, breaker coordination, UPSs, ground system, lightning protection, and lighting).
  3. Minimum six (6) years experience in the National Electrical Code.
  4. Minimum six (6) years experience in electrical safety NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout system, preventative maintenance, specifying/purchasing electrical equipment and materials.
  5. Minimum one (1) year experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and work order systems.
