RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The person in this position is responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks in the Office of Recruitment and Retention. This may include creating a monthly newsletter, writing literature research reviews, serving as a campus tour guide, making initial contact with prospective students, creating forms, and a plethora of administrative tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and racially conscious culture.
- Excellent oral and written skills.
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Meet moving deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and open to feedback.
- Detail-oriented, familiar with Canva and/or similar software.
- Ability to communicate with diverse populations which includes: professional roles, gender, racial, age, etc.
- Ability to take direction and execute the vision of the Office of Retention and Recruitment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a College of Education or working in a field closely related to education.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipend of up to 9 credits per semester, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.

This assistantship will be up to 20 hours per week and in-person
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
