Facility Engineering Intern - Wastewater

Intern/Co-Op will contribute to a fast-paced growing team in the Facility Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical & Pluming department and will perform tasks both independently and by working closely with team members to ensure that objectives are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare design documents to support the construction of industrial and commercial facility infrastructure;
  • Prepare engineering drawings in electronic drafting software including AutoCAD and Revit with support from our CAD designers;
  • Perform load calculations for mechanical and electrical systems in industrial and commercial facilities;
  • Assist senior engineers with the selection and specification of mechanical and electrical equipment;
  • Assist with arc-flash field studies, prepare 1-line diagrams in SKM software, and prepare written reports;
  • Conduct field visits to active facilities with engineers and technicians during design and during construction;
  • Prepare written reports for assigned projects;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and industry experts within the Facility Engineering division;
  • May assist in preparation of proposal estimates of time and expense required to complete the project; and
  • Performs other related work as apparent or as assigned and performs all such work in a safe manner, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures.

 Education and Skills Required:
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
  • Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude;
  • 3.0 GPA or higher;
  • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals;
  • Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change;
  • Be self-motivated;
  • Prior internship and/or related engineering experience are a plus.
