Staff Environmental Scientist – Site Assessment and Remediation

Where would you step in? 
As a valuable member of our environmental site assessment and remediation team, you will work with scientists, engineers, and planners on client projects throughout the area. You will work out of our Westfield, Massachusetts headquarters in a hybrid office/remote/field model, including flex-time summer Fridays. 

Our Environment Team and Projects
Our Environment group is nearly 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. We cover site assessment, remediation, wetland science, hazardous building materials, regulatory compliance, permitting, and other ways we support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, colleges, and hospitals.

What will you be doing? 
You will have a mix of environmental site assessment field work that may include drilling oversight, remedial observation, and environmental sampling and remediation system monitoring. Office work will include assisting with environmental data review and interpretation and report writing. You will also be asked to assist with the preparation of environmental work plans, assessment reports, and remedial action plans, which will provide valuable career experience. 

What do you need? 
You will need at least three years of experience doing environmental consulting work. Experience with technical report preparation and project-level support is preferred. A BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Engineering. You also need OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification and a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and your own transportation. Experience performing field work and data analysis is also helpful.

Environmental Scientist salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $52,000 - $72,000. As an employee-owned company, we also offer generous year-end bonuses and robust deferred income benefits to help you build wealth through our matching 401(k), ESOP, and annual profit sharing.
