PAID INTERNSHIP -Visual Assets Collector and Creator Intern [The Cleveland Museum of Natural History]
$20/hr.
The Visual Assets Collector and Creator Intern will photograph, gather, and design content related to Museum grants and initiatives. This includes but is not limited to, the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant, National Science Foundation (NSF) grant, Mandel Foundation grant, and Museum summer camps.
Intern Responsibilities:
- The intern will learn how to use this content in strategic ways while utilizing graphic design and other creative skills.
- This includes but is not limited to designing print and digital advertisements.
- Creating Instagram highlight reels and gathering visual assets for marketing campaigns.
- As a final presentation, the intern will share their portfolio with Museum stakeholders involved in grants and summer camps.
Intern Requirements:
- Photograph all Museum assets, exhibits and events for historical and marketing purposes.
- Edit photographs for appropriate medium, including cropping, sizing, color correction, etc. via Photoshop.
- Assist Museum Graphic Designer as needed.
- Assist Museum External Communications Manager as needed.
- Incorporate assets in posts on Museum's social media accounts.
- Attend programs, events, and educational programming for the purpose of photography.
- Provide and accept feedback regarding projects.
- Attend weekly team meetings and participate in marketing and communications campaigns.
- Other responsibilities and support as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong photography portfolio
- Knowledge of photography best practices
- Working knowledge of Photoshop.
- Basic graphic design skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, including PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Highly organized.
- A level of creativity with regard to visual storytelling.
- Collaborative team player.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
