Job Summary/ Candidate Profile
The Media Relations Communications Intern will work on multiple communications projects available to help the team build promotional programs for RWJF Thought Leaders. The projects include project design and research to seek new opportunities for speaking engagements, conferences, and specialty media outreach. The intern will gain experience working with an experienced team to help build a needed communications campaign or program, strategize around organizational mission and audience, and identify and conduct needed research to bring the project plan to completion.


The 2023 summer intern program will operate in a hybrid work model.
 
Internship Duties
·      Research selected RWJF units and provide input on comms plan, strategy, and audiences.
·      Research RWJF Thought Leaders and provide suitable conference and other speaking engagement opportunities and specialty media opportunities with team input.
·      Craft and potentially execute project plans in collaboration with the Communications team.
·      Provide support, analysis, and feedback in ongoing media and communications campaigns.


Requirements
·      Junior or Senior majoring in Communications preferred.
·      Demonstrates a strong commitment to health and racial equity.
·      Proficiency with various technology platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Dropbox, etc.).
·      Oral, written communication, and presentation skills. Writing samples may be requested.
·      Able to interact with staff at all levels.
·      Able to plan and organize work responsibilities, strong time management skills.
·      Attention to detail.
·      Research skills.
·      Able to analyze and present data.
·      Analytic skills.
·      Ability to work independently as well as in highly collaborative team environments.
·      Ability to work in an inclusive environment working as part of a multidisciplinary team and working effectively with persons from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.
 
Preferences/ Additional Information
·      Candidates are expected to be in the office at least 1 day per week in Princeton, NJ
