Material Planning Intern

Summary
Shearer’s Foods is currently seeking an energetic, articulate, self-motivated individual with a “can do” attitude to join the fast-paced Material Planning team.

 Your seat at the table
  • Material planning intern will work in the Materials and Logistics Department to assist with raw material planning, production scheduling, quality control, cost reduction, and inventory control,
  • Material planning intern will have the opportunity to be part of the daily supply chain and warehouse activities.
  • Assist the team to ensure that daily production schedules are met. 
  • Interfacing with various departments including Customer Service, and Supply Chain
  • Participate with the research and analysis of cost saving opportunities.
  • May assume the duties normally performed in the material planning department, with current employees who perform these roles.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the company.

What you bring to the table 
  • Currently pursuing/enrolled in accredited college/university pursuing degree (Bachelors or Masters) with a Business/Supply Chain Management/Industrial Engineering degree focus.
  • 3.2 GPA or higher with completion of sophomore year leading to a bachelor’s degree.
  • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail oriented and task-focused outlook.
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
