As a Financial Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
  • Provide comprehensive staff, financial, and administrative services to operating organizations, programs and projects, to include payment processing, and tracking. Coordinate financial resources management and budget and accounting services. Analyze financial data and program information in support of mission objectives, and utilize automated systems to extract financial data from various databases to perform fiscal, financial management, contractual and grant assignments.
  • Review current and planned operations to ensure sufficient funding to meet program needs. Interpret reports and other resource management data to communicate information to external and internal contacts. Oversee required audits and requests for information, and participate in some facets of personnel management in support of resource management tasks.
  • Develop, recommend and implement policies that lead directly to the accomplishment of major programs. Execute a range of financial and operational tasks associated in support of the assigned offices budgeting, accounting, and manpower management functions.
  • Prepare required documents to enter into reimbursable activities, and track incoming funds, expiration of funds, and expenditure of funds and period of performance agreements. Work with Laboratory and Cooperative Institute (grants) proposals, regarding budget planning, obligating and expending funds.
