Environmental Scientist (JC 358100)

The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Quality has an opening for an Environmental Scientist in the Assessment Tools and Support Unit. The position is located at the CalEPA Building,1001 I Street, Sacramento.

The incumbent will provide scientific expertise and technical support with analysis and interpretation of physical, chemical, and biological data from California’s rivers, lakes, beaches, and other aquatic ecosystems to develop the Clean Water Act Section 305(b) Assessment and 303(d) List of Impaired Waters, or Integrated Report, and effectively communicate the results to internal and external parties.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
