RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
The assistantship duties require work as a Laboratory TA. The laboratory TA teaches and evaluates undergraduate students using previously established laboratory activities. Courses that may be associated with the teaching assistantship include: HP 314 Physiology of Exercise, HP 363 Science of Strength and Conditioning, HP 431 Biomechanics, HP 102 Individualized Exercise, HP 291Concepts of Fitness, and HP 466 Graded Exercise Testing & Prescription.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 for the last two years of undergraduate work.
- A Bachelor's Degree.
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Priority given to students accepted in the Exercise Physiology graduate program.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field.
- Teaching, lab, or instructional experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: A full (1) graduate assistantship includes a stipend of up to $10,000 with a tuition waiver of up to 18 credits per academic year. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.
