Overview.

The Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA) is now accepting applications for the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Endowed Florence Scholarship.
 
Going abroad is one of the most memorable college experiences that a student can have and thanks to a generous gift from Daniel D’Aniello ’68, H’20 and his wife Gayle, veterans and military-connected students with demonstrated financial need that have an interest in learning about Italian history and culture can study in Florence without cost or use of their GI Bill benefits. tuition, housing, and a stipend will be provided through the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Endowed Florence Scholarship. 


Instructions.

 

Please read all the application instructions CAREFULLY!

 
1. Deadline. You must apply for the SU Abroad Florence, Italy Program First!
Please do this immediately as capacity at this location is going very fast. Applications for this scholarship will close on July 31st 2023. NO applications will be accepted after the deadline.
 
2. How to apply. You must apply for the SU Abroad Florence, Italy Program FIRST!
Once your application for SU Abroad is received then you may apply for the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Endowed Florence Scholarship.
 
The application packet includes a cover letter, resume and essay questions. Your scholarship application will be considered based on the quality and content of your essay question responses. If you do not provide responses to all questions on this application or fail to complete the application process as instructed, your application will be incomplete, and you will not be considered for the scholarship.
 
3. Essay questions. Please answer each essay question in 200-300 words and attach it to the scholarship application as a separate document.

  •  Why do you think you would be a good candidate for the SU Study Abroad experience in Florence, Italy?

  • State your reasons for wishing to participate in the SU Study Abroad experience in Florence, Italy?

  • What do you expect to be the greatest challenges to you while studying in a new culture? How will you meet these challenges?

  • In what ways do you think the experience of study abroad in Florence, Italy will benefit you?

  • What contributions do you think you will make during the study abroad experience, after you return to main campus and beyond?

4. Please note: If you are selected to receive the Daniel and Gayle D’Aniello Endowed Florence Scholarship you will be required to provide information for a donor recipient report prior to being awarded funds. OVMA will provide guidelines to the scholarship recipient upon selection notification.
