Position overview
Marcus Thomas is seeking an exceptionally talented Copywriter Intern with big ideas and the writing skills to bring those ideas to life. This is a full-time, paid, summer internship. Applicants should have a portfolio filled with conceptual ideas an work that demonstrates the ability to write in a variety of styles for diverse audiences.
What will I be doing?
- Offer great ideas and work with other creatives to develop concepts and solutions.
- Write engaging copy and content that supports defined strategies, with assignments accepted by the creative director.
- Develop the marketing story by leveraging necessary background information and industry knowledge to create accurate, relevant, logical and persuasive messages and experiences.
- Meet deadlines and work within assigned timelines.
- Work cooperatively with a variety of team members and disciplines, while following internal processes to develop creative work that reflects inspired thinking.
What are the qualifications?
To get the most out of the program, the following qualities have been found in our most successful interns:
- Desired candidates and majors include juniors, seniors or recent graduates studying journalism, English, communications, advertising or other related fields.
- Maintain a portfolio filled with great ideas and writing samples.
- Demonstrate excellence in concept development – a superior idea generator and thinker.
- Able to meet deadlines and juggle multiple priorities – thrive in an environment of rapid change.
- Possess a passion to produce great creative work.
- Display an articulate, friendly, “whatever-it-takes” attitude, along with a strong work ethic.
How long is the program?
This is a 10- to 12-week program where you’ll be working full time up to 40 hours.
Is this a paid program?
Yes! Students who participate in this internship program are paid $18.00 an hour.
Is the program remote?
The 2023 program will be remote, with occasional in-office visits for folks local to Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio.
