The Job
We have multiple sports editorial internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the Atlanta area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.
This could include, but is not limited to:
- CNN Sports: We are made up of enthusiastic journalists who create sports content within a news climate including Bleacher Report segments on CNN-US and HLN as well as CNN World Sport which is a daily show airing on CNN International.
- NCAA Digital: NCAA Digital oversees the operations, day-to-day production, marketing and sales of NCAA.com, the official website of the NCAA. In addition to NCAA.com, the NCAA Digital team oversees products for the Division I Men's Basketball Championship, including March Madness Live.
The Daily
Duties could include:
- Learning all aspects of newsgathering from the moment a story is born to making air.
- Assist the sports newsgathering team by researching stories, fact-checking, gathering video elements and pitching fresh ideas.
- Fact-checking anchor scripts, copy-editing banners and producing graphic elements.
- Actively participate in editorial and show team meetings.
- Interns also assist the teams with basic administrative and production tasks.
- Write, edit and produce original content

- Sports knowledge
- AP style, proofreading, website management and social media
- Writing samples and/or portfolio
