Sales Intern

Our Intern will enjoy working in our high-level, professional office where they will engage in diverse and challenging work responsibilities supporting our top Sales Professionals, Client Service Managers, and global industry leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a “Buckner Cares” volunteer activity
  • Assist Client Service Managers with:
  • Processing Certificates of Insurance
  • Processing Evidence of Insurance
  • Processing Auto ID Cards
  • Enrolling accounts in the Agency Management System
  • Work closely with full time Sales Professionals to complete special projects and to assist in soliciting, servicing, and developing relationships with both potential and current Buckner clients
  • Will include but will not be limited to cold calling, generating prospect lists, gathering information, filling out applications, working with underwriters, and developing relationships with prospects
  • Target Marketing and Sales Campaign Project
  • Semi-monthly Sales round tables for new producers
  • Job shadows with seasoned Sales professional on prospect and renewal meetings
  • Attend “Industry Partner” days where you will have the ability to meet with other leaders in the industry, like our carrier partners, underwriters and marketing reps
  • Get introduced to Claims and Loss Control
 
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • The ideal candidate will be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of or experience in the insurance industry preferred

  • Ability to establish and develop strong relationships with clients, carriers, trusted business partners and coworkers
  • Business development and financial evaluation skill

Physical:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and to listen for instructions and information. The employee is also required to sit for long periods of time often in front of a computer monitor and operate a computer keyboard. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
