Engineering Data Technician (PSA I) Req 206802

Position Summary:
This is a temporary position that is located in Topeka, at the Eisenhower State Office Building, and is within the Division of Engineering & Design. This position will work in a team environment under the supervision of the Engineering Data Quality Manager to help provide data analysis for engineering application data systems. The work may include some or all the following: calculating and verifying data accuracy, examine and interpret engineering data using statistical techniques, create paginated and/or interactive graphical reports, and assist with developing data models. A hybrid telework schedule may be available to a highly qualified candidate.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Gather, examine, and interpret engineering data using statistical techniques
  • Interactive and/or paginated graphical report writing
  • Assist with data gathering using various techniques or analysis
  • Provide assistance as directed by Engineering Data Quality Manager with data cleanup
  • Create asset maps using Google products (local and state bridges, light and sign locations, etc.)
  • Assist in the restructuring of bridge documents by renaming and organization methods
  • Obtain and provide bridge data based on user requests
  • Other data collection duties as defined by Engineering Data Team


Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Six months of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Esri Tools: ArcGIS Pro, Map Viewer, Survey 123
  • Power BI or Crystal Reports knowledge
  • Oracle or MS SQL competency
  • Crystal Reports
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis
