The Loeb Center's Alumni-in-Residence program is excited to offer 20-minute, 1-on-1, informational office hour appointments with Amrita Vijay '07.
Whether you want tips on essential business skills for artists, how to submit a short film to the festival circuit, or to explore what it’s like to be an event producer—you’ll find Amrita to be an insightful, enthusiastic, and informed resource. These appointments provide a great opportunity for resume reviews, in-depth questions about building on your own experiences, and time to learn more about the intersections of art and entrepreneurship.
Amrita Vijayaraghavan was raised in Oregonian suburbs which, at the time, were a lot more "I, Tonya" and a lot less "Portlandia." She spent a transplanted adolescence outside of Cleveland, where her first paid job was playing violin under a 25-foot animatronic Jesus at an evangelical megachurch.
After graduating from Amherst College, she worked in New York City as a classical music agent, venue manager, festival producer, stage manager, technical director, live-event curator and producer, and the managing director of a progressive startup opera company. As part of duo Vijay & Stephens, she now creates original scripted works for television, and writes, produces, and directs a variety of live, written, and recorded projects.
Alumni-in-Residence office hours appointments are available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors on a first-come, first-served basis. Submit your resume today to sign up for a time slot!
