Academic Intervention Facilitator (2023-2024 School Year)

ACADEMIC INTERVENTION FACILITATOR - WEST FARGO PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

POSITION: Academic Intervention Facilitator - West Fargo Public School District

TERM: 188-day contract beginning with the 2023-2024 school year

SUMMARY: The Academic Intervention Facilitator position is designed to support the Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and educators assigned to secondary intervention courses focused on evidence-based instructional practices aligned to our strategic and intensive interventions which are in support of the guaranteed and viable curriculum (GVC) and profile of a graduate dispositions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain communication with Director of Curriculum & Instruction and Coordinator assigned to technology
  • Utilize and demonstrate for educators, formative and authentic assessments aligned to the standards and learning targets of the discipline, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Facilitate implementation and support educators in the development of engaging, future-ready learning environments
  • Model and reinforce the use of progress monitoring, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Facilitate and model the integration of technology into the educational environment, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Communicate assessment windows with intervention educators and work with learners who need make-up sessions for assessments
  • Conduct screening for new learners as needed throughout the year, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Support the transition of learners from one level to the next; for example fifth to sixth and eighth to ninth
  • Analyze data to determine candidates for further screening
  • Facilitate and model using learner data and evidence to inform instruction both individually and through the PLC process
  • Provide building principals with assistance as requested to create learner and educator intervention schedules, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Model instruction, creating videos for educator review as needed, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Provide guidelines and look for evidence of the implementation of professional learning
  • Analyze data collected from learner performance to inform the program and monitor the system
  • Work collaboratively with the counselor and administrative teams to ensure course registration is completed accurately for learners in academic interventions, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with the administrative team and educator leaders to design and implement targeted professional learning and continue to advance practices for intervention educators, this work may occur during additional days as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of three years of experience
  • Evidence of leadership positions in the past three years
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Education
  • Valid ND teaching license
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues and the school community
  • Ability to work well with others, resolve controversy and conflict through respectful negotiation, and accept constructive feedback
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate connection and sharing of thoughts and ideas in multiple formats with diverse audiences
  • Ability to reason, interpret, and analyze information to generate new knowledge and understanding
  • Adept at problem-solving, resilient when faced with challenges, and skilled in planning and organization 

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education, the starting salary for this position would be following the 2023-2024 Teacher Salary Schedule. (Refer to 2022-2023 Teacher Salary Schedule until new schedule is available.)
