Internship – Wardrobe, Assistant Technical Designer (Summer 2023)
Summer 2023 Semester:

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will learn the techniques necessary to create one-of-a-kind pieces, small lot development, and mass production projects in collaboration with Designers and a Creative and Technical team. Strengthen your wardrobe construction and technical skills in apparel to add to personal portfolio.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with Pattern Maker to cut out garments and pull matching thread, button and zippers needed for the garment to be made.
- Help the Technical Designer with measuring garments, charting the measurement, and comparing to existing measurement chart.
- Assist team in creative presentations and meetings, putting looks together, matching to the models and tagging.
- Help dress models for photoshoots, making sure the right look is put together and fits models appropriately.
- Edit photos for documentation by using Photoshop.
- Help Tech Designer with flat sketches using Adobe Illustrator.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Senior or above.
- Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
- Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- An official transcript may be required upon request.
- Preferred majors include: Fashion Design.
EXPERIENCE: Prior internship or garment construction experience related to position is preferred.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:
- Experience with Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Superior written & verbal communication skills.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
- Consistent attendance.

- This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
- Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university and must have a graduation date later than August 2023.
- Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
