Virtual Human Resources Internship

Interested in outreach, recruiting, and empowering direct support professionals?  
The Human Resources Intern will work primarily in YAI's Community Habilitation and In-Home Respite programs serving as a representative of YAI within the community, leading the charge with recruitment. The Human Resources Intern will also support the HR business partner on various projects including but not limited to employee recruitment efforts. 

Responsibilities 
As a face of YAI in the community, you will communicate our mission, vision, and opportunities throughout the regions that YAI serves.  You will assist with recruiting and screening prospective candidates and monitoring their progress through the onboarding process. 
The Human Resources Intern will be responsible for accurate candidate record tracking and data management through recruitment platforms such as Indeed and Workday. 

  • Source and screen qualified candidates. 
  • Liaise between the recruiter and candidates to coordinate interviews and initial screening calls. 
  • Utilize various job boards and careers pages to advertise and market open positions and upcoming vacancies. 
  • Regularly manage pipeline activity and maintain data integrity via our ATS (i.e., Workday, Indeed), and proactively share data-centric updates with internal stakeholders. 
  • Assist with the preparation of materials for career fairs, virtual interviews, and other recruiting events, as needed. 
  • Facilitate timely communication between the Onboarding team and recruiter. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Desired Qualifications:  

  • Currently enrolled in a college, university, or certificate program*  

  • Undergraduate or graduate-level student preferred 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Strong organizational and time management skills   
  • Professional phone and email communication skills   
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit and willing to take initiative 
  • Ability to work autonomously and complete projects independently, collaboratively, and cross-departmentally 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize project deadlines 
  • A high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel and Google Apps  
  • Able to quickly learn new technology systems like Workday 
  • Interest in exploring the non-profit sector 
  • Passion for helping others and an interest in intellectual and developmental disabilities 
 
*This is an unpaid internship opportunity that is only open to current students. The internship may be able to satisfy course credit if approved by the student's institution of learning.
