  Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the building principal is the supervision and improvement of instruction and professional competencies. A major portion of the principal’s time shall be spent on ensuring that rigorous course content is accessible for all students, and in providing opportunities for job-embedded professional development for licensed staff. The principal is responsible for the establishment of a highly collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement. The principal is also responsible for the organization and administration of the school through the management of: communications, personnel, student discipline, services and resources, facilities, and records. 
 
Desired Qualifications:  

 
  • Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a General Administrative or Principal endorsement;
  • Three years of administrative experience in a public school district preferred;
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary or middle school level;
  • Proven record of dynamic educational leadership, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff and parents;
  • Strong background in elementary curriculum, instruction, special education, and bilingual education;
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of teaching through frequent formal and informal observations;
  • Ability to be a part of an effective management team;
  • Ability to work well in a professional community with high expectations for its students and schools;
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
 
Work Year:   12 months employee
 
Salary Range:  
  • Starting salary of $90,000 plus Board paid TRS;
  • Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a competitive benefits package;
