The School District of West Salem is right next door to La Crosse in the beautiful Coulee Region of Western Wisconsin. Our 3 buildings are within walking distance of each other on an approximate 100-acre campus on the edge of town. Students in grades K-12 are issued MacBooks or iPads as part of its 1:1 digital learning environment. The School District has approximately 1850 students within its three buildings. Our district has a 4K-4 elementary school, 5-8 middle school and a 9-12 high school. The elementary school has approximately 700 students.

The district is looking for a principal for our 4K-4 Elementary school to "Serve with passion to ignite creativity, innovation, and excellence." Having a passion for helping teachers excel and for providing an exciting, meaningful, and rewarding experience for students is a must! Successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to establish a clear vision aligned to the district's mission and performance goals. Candidates should be energetic, creative and innovative and willing to provide their students with a 21st Century experience.


West Salem Elementary School (WSES) is an award winning elementary school recognized for excellence in academic achievement, PBIS, Response to Intervention and school nutrition. The staff includes RtI coordinators, technology integrationist, two counselors and an associate principal.

QUALIFICATIONS
*Possess a Master's Degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university.
*Graduate work should include school administration, supervision, school business administration, curriculum and instruction, educational measurement, personal administration, and school law.

EXPERIENCE
*At least five years of demonstrated, successful experience as a teacher.
*At least three years of demonstrated, successful administrative experience in a school setting.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
*Demonstrated and successful skills in curricular and instructional leadership; communication; establishing and maintaining relationships based on mutual confidence, trust, and respect; supervision and leading of staff; and personal and group decision-making.
*Demonstrated sound judgment, social competence, adaptability, self-confidence, initiative, enthusiasm, resourcefulness, and dedication to duty.
*The ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
*The ability to use technology for student and administrative needs.
*Being a collaborative team member in the building, district and community.

The estimated pay is the current 2022-2023 pay rate. 2023-2024 hasn't been set yet.

Timeline schedule:
