The internship will acquaint the student with the Federal Criminal, Civil and Administrative investigative process by actually being a part of the NASA OIG Office of Investigations (OI). The intern will work closely with the Special Agents (SAs) and Forensic Accountants throughout the investigative process, from receipt of the allegation to the ultimate prosecutive action. Interns will work under the guidance of senior employees performing activities that may assist SAs in obtaining general investigative information from subjects, witnesses, victims and other sources. Interns may assist in the conduct of interviews, document statements, and provide input to the SAs on disposition of cases. The intern's work may lead to identifying suspects and/or companies to be prosecuted criminally/civilly or lead to an administrative settlement. The intern may also assist the SAs in developing investigative strategies and further make recommendations to assist the SAs with investigative case work. Administrative duties in support of OI may also be assigned to the intern
