Seeking a student employee that is interested and/or has experience in Ophthalmology to aid clinicians and staff on a very busy clinical service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
May work up to 10 hrs/week
Looking for assistance in late afternoons (2-5pm) and some mornings from 9-12pm. Flexible hours depending on class schedule.
Looking for assistance in Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with in-patients:
Deliver samples to Clin Path
Pick up meds from Pharmacy
Hold/restrain for student and clinician examinations 
Hold/restrain for patients needing imaging (rads, ultrasound)
Assist with discharges:
Pick up meds from Pharmacy
Aid IMCU and CCU in getting catheters removed etc.
Assist student and clinician with bringing animal to client
Assist with Examinations:
Pick up patient from car; communicate amount of time needed; clarify phone numbers
Hold/restrain for student and clinician examinations 
Hold/restrain for blood draws etc.
Deliver samples to Clin Path
Clean/ restock all exam rooms, treatment room
Wipe down tables and mats
Wipe down cages if necessary
Take used instruments to central
Stock rooms with supplies
Clean ophthalmology equipment

Required Skills:
Large animal, equine handling experience
Animal restraint experience (equine, canine and feline)
Basic physical examination skills (equine, canine and feline)

Preferred Skills:
Previous experience as a veterinary assistant
Able to lift 30 pounds
