Grants Analyst

The Grants Analyst will play a pivotal role on the Compliance Team at Uncommon Schools. They will supports the annual budget development and management process for all Federal Grants, execute on financial reporting and drawdowns, maintains grant expense workbooks with current and accurate information. The Grants Analyst will also support the development and implementation of team initiatives to build scalability and enhance processes while maintaining high quality service for our Home Office and Regional teams. Additional responsibilities include: 
  • Maintaining and updating budget templates
  • Assisting with pre-budgeting analysis and recommendations
  • Identifying allowable expenses
  • Preparing monthly expenditure reports
  • Tracking monthly expenditures against budgets
  • Reviews monthly reports and flags issues
  • Support development of materials for board resolutions and drawdowns  
  • Support development of grant applications with regional teams
  • Collaborates with regional teams to collect and archive compliance documents for audits
  • Supports development of materials for both financial audits and State audit
  • Reports expenses and drawdowns to states, regional teams, and other Home Office teams

Perferred Quailifications 
  • Familiarity with grants and working knowledge of Workday

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in an analytical role with a finance focus

Travel Requirements:
  • Hybrid schedule, expected to work 3X a week from our office in lower Manhattan and 2X a week from home

Compensation for this position: The starting compensation for this role based in New York is between $67,320 to $79,200 and generally, we expect that qualified candidates in this location will be made an offer between $67,300 and $71,300. The starting pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. Because we value staff staying in their roles over time, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
