Highway Safety Marketing/Outreach Intern
Highway Safety Marketing/Outreach Intern
The Center for Transportation Research is seeking a student intern to assist with planning, setting up, and conducting highway safety outreach events. The Center owns a seatbelt convincer and other highway safety educational tools that are used to promote safe driving to teens and others at high schools and community events. These events require significant advance communications, planning, and preparation. The intern will assist with each aspect of the events as we seek opportunities to educate teens regarding the importance of making good decisions behind the wheel. The successful intern should be comfortable interacting with teens and young adults, with an interest in educating them on the benefits of seatbelt use and other highway safety topics. We will provide training on the many facets of these events and would prefer students interested in marketing this program to teens, teachers, community leaders, and potential sponsors.
This position will report to CTR’s associate director, who leads the GetConvinced (https://ctr.utk.edu/teen-driving-safety-program/) program at CTR.
This position will require an average of 10-15 hours a week, and working remotely or in a hybrid setup may be acceptable. The position will pay $15 per hour.
