Engineer 1 - Spring 2023 Grad

Schneider Electric is looking for an Engineer 1 to join our team in Glen Allen, VA starting June/July 2023

What do you get to do in this position?
- Participate in performing preliminary and detailed energy engineering studies of complex projects of unlimited scope and
size.
- Perform energy-use baseline analysis, including utility rate simulations and weather normalization.
- Generate baseline energy models and perform energy savings calculations.
- May ensure savings projections are plausible and financial risk is identified.
- Assist in defining project scope and performing high-level project cost estimates.
- May ensure project estimates are accurate and the project scope is executable within the budget.
- May contribute to strategizing the sell of a project with the salesperson and managers
- Assist the technical decision-making for engineering, in conjunction and coordination with the other engineers and
managers on projects.
- Perform field investigation as required.
- Prepare technical audit reports.
- May assist in sales presentations.
- Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines and budgets are met.
- Develop projects that meet or exceed the divisional goals and objectives.
- Other duties may be assigned.

This job might be for you if:
 
- Four-year science or engineering degree, Spring 2023 grads preferred. 
- 1-4 years relevant work experience
- Intermediate understanding of building systems and energy use.
- Intermediate understanding of energy modeling software, such as eQuest, HAP, or Visual DOE.
- Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including but not limited to: the ability to listen effectively and solicit
input from others.
- Intermediate organizational skills including but not limited to: time management, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments,
the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and utilization.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
- Basic understanding of Performance Contracting.
- Basic understanding of Project Development processes.
- Certified Energy Manager certification is preferred.
- EIT certification is preferred.
